BELIZE CITY COUNCIL COMMEMORATES ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY BY ADOPTING THE LABOUR AND DELIVERY UNIT AT KARL HEUSNER MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

 

 

Belize City, Belize (March 8th, 2013).... Today Friday March 8th, 2013, the Belize City Council will concluded their week-long activities by showcasing the roomwebsite image
s in the Labour and Delivery Unit (L&D) at Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital that they have adopted in celebration of their one year anniversary since being elected into office.

On Wednesday March 6th, Mayor Darrell Bradley and his fellow city councillors took a hands-on approach with the first phase of the adoption and painted the waiting room for the L&D unit. For phase one, approximately $12, 000 has been contributed to paint and furnished the public waiting room, the L&D Staff Room and the Breast Feeding Room with a daybed, dining table, refrigerator (staff room), rocking chair, book shelf (Mother Feeding Room), chairs, TV (waiting room), paintings and curtains among other things. Various departments under the Belize City Council umbrella will continue with the other phases of the adoption until the entire L&D unit including both delivery rooms have been renovated.

 

The Adopt-A-Ward program entitles interested persons to adopt, sustain or maintain a wall, hall, ward or room in the hospital and is an initiative that is not only targeted to the business community, but also to the general public through various levels of donations.
